Imari vintage porcelain nesting bowls in red, blue, and green with botanic and plaid pattern

This set includes three nesting bowls: a 7-1/4 inch small bowl, an 8-1/2 inch medium bowl, and a 9-1/2 inch large bowl.

These beautiful serving bowls feature a robust palette of red, blue, and green on a white background. The hand-painted design includes lush botanic depictions of several types of flowers and leaves as well as a bit of plaid. These bowls would be a fun jumping off point to create a stunning table setting or they would make a gorgeous vignette for display.

Imari ware is a type of Arita ware traditionally made in the town of Arita, in the former Hizen Province, northwestern Kyūshū. They were exported to Europe extensively from the port of Imari, Saga, between the second half of the 17th century and the first half of the 18th century. The name therefore derives from the port of export. Imari ware has been continuously produced up through the present day.
